Following the resignation of Arvind Saxena – Director Marketing & Sales at Hyundai Motors India Limited, the company has appointed Mr. Rakesh Srivastava in his place. Srivastava, who till date held the position of Vice- President - National Sales at Hyundai Motor India Ltd, will now take over from Saxena with effect from 27th July, 2012, overseeing both sales and marketing departments at HMIL
Saxena served the company for a period of seven years and moves on to explore other opportunities. Talks have pointed at him joining Volkswagen where he will be in charge of their Indian operations. Srivastava on the other hand joined Hyundai Motors in April 2012 fromMaruti Suzuki India Limited. He is an IIM-A alumni and has over 24 years of experience in companies such as Goodlass Nerolac Paints, CTG Industries besides vast knowledge of the auto industry. Though Saxena is slated to join Volkswagen India, no confirmation has been received from the company.
Volkswagen sales have taken a dip during the month of June 2012. The company sold 5371 units in June 2012 as compared to 5397 units in the same month in previous year. Hyundai Eon, Santro and i10 and i20 are among their major sellers the company reported a 3.49% increase in sales during the month of June 2012 during which they sold 54,354 units over the same month in the previous year.
