Speculations rife about Samsung launching a 16MP digital camera based on Galaxy S III

Samsung recently confirmed that it will be launching its Galaxy Player 5.8 PMP, Android 4.0 at IFA 2012. Now, speculations are rife about Samsung gearing up to launch a 16 megapixel digital camera based on Galaxy S III. According to a source on GSMArena.com the camera based on Galaxy S III will be named Samsung Galaxy S and have a Super AMOLED touch screen on the rear.

The device will run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The 16 megapixel digital camera is believed to have a Xenon-pop-out flash and 10x optical zoom. Reports also suggest the device will have 3G and Wi-Fi capability. Furthermore reports suggest the device will have a dual color theme. In the past too Samsung has surprised many with its unexpected release of products.

Considering the rate at which number of Android snappers is increasing, it is safe to say Samsung will announce its digital camera based on Galaxy S III soon. Samsung may well launch its digital camera at IFA 2012 alongside its Galaxy Player 5.8 PMP.
