'Audi City' is a new state of the art showroom that has opened its doors in the heart of London's Piccadilly Circus. It is the first of many such showrooms promised by the company, which has plans of opening over 20 such Audi digital showrooms in the coming two to three years. The showroom will have the entire Audi lineup being presented in a fully digital format, thus bringing together a digital presentation and direct contact with Audi dealers on a common platform.
Audi enthusiasts will have a hands on experience towards vehicles being offered by Audi and will be able to liaison with Audi dealers all at the same time. Customers will be able to experience all Audi creations through digital technology and will get a virtual look of the vehicles inside and out, They will also be able to experience equipment options, color options and all functions on their selected car.
The acoustic system in the shop ensures that sound is individual to the selected car and that it is audible only to that particular customer showing interest in the car. The company has digitized all engine sounds including opening and shutting of each Audi car door to give customers an authentic experience.
Going digital does not mean that all Audi City shops will be car free, but this new approach will cater to those dealerships were space is a constraint. Dealerships will need to stock fewer cars to entice customers, with those showing further interest, the option of visiting a normal dealership store where they can go ahead and test drive the vehicle of their choice, is always available.
