Fiat India and Don Bosco Experiential Skill Training Centre near Pune for skilled technicians and better automotive job quality

Fiat India in association with Don Bosco Vyawasaik Prashikshan Kendra, Pune has initiated a training centre specially designed to impart technical training to youngsters. The program is called 'Diksha' and will be fully financed and set up at Don Bosco, Chinchwad near Pune. This Training Centre will be called "FIAT & Don Bosco Experiential Skill Training Center". Fiat has alreday made avilable equiment worth 56 lakhs, apart from a car that students can take apart and assemble to get a better understanding of their training.

Mr Rajeev Kapoor, CEO of Fiat India Automobiles Limited stated the urgent need to enhance facilities at vocation centers so that trainees are given an all round guidance to ensure that they are capable of surviving in the highly competitive automobile sector. This training will ensure that they are suitably employed while capable of self sustenance. Fiat India will be responsible for support, competencies of trainers, and provision of training internships for trainers and trainees. Once the trainees pass their courses, most job opportunities comes from car dealerships. Fiat will also hire trainees as and when job apportunities are made available.

Fiat India would be giving them an opportunity to have hands on experience and will be providing vehicles, components and other equipment for their training aids. Diksha Program will be short term course of four months duration and there will be three such batches held every year each having a total of about 25 students. Besides this course, Centre of Excellence will be a long term course of 2 years duration which will be held for a batch of 21 students. Students of both these training programs will receive certification from National Council for Vocational Training, New Delhi and Joint Certification from FIAT and Don Bosco.A short term 6 month course will see enrolment of 99 students per batch.
