Nissan Altima sedan offers lowest cost to drive to Mars

Since curiosity has landed on Mars, there is a never ending debate on whether it would be possible to drive to the Red Planet. Though this is in theory and not so much practical Nissan has engineered a graph which provides statistics on the amount of fuel and cost it would take to drive to Mars.

This is an innovative way to promote the mileage of the Nissan Altima which has been registered at an impressive 38-mpg. The Japanese carmaker has made it known that if anyone would consider driving the 352 million miles to mars the trip would be cheaper if one travelled there in the Altima.

Taking into consideration a price of $3.645 per gallon Nissan has estimated that it would cost about $33,764,211 million to drive to mars. These figures are better than the $36,658,286 million it would cost if you drove to Mars in the Toyota Camry. Toyota Kirloskar Motors will launch the premium luxury Toyota Camry in the Indian auto market on 24th August, 2012.

Cost to Drive to Mars in a Hyundai Sonata, Kia Optima, or Chevrolet Malibu will set you back by almost the same amount. Choosing to drive a Volkswagen Passat or Ford Fusion FWD will cost upward of $41,000,000. Maintenance and overhead expenses of these passenger cars hasn't been estimated but that shouldn't be too much of a put off since we're a long way off from the drive.
