Rolls Royce replace 108 years old RR badge: 3 Series II Drophead Coupes pay tribute to London 2012

2012 London Olympics was special for everyone in the UK. Rolls Royce, the British luxury car maker, too is one of them. That is why for the first time in their 108 year old history, Rolls Royce has changed its badge design. The new badge design was seen on three spectacular limited edition pristine white Rolls Royce cars. This new design is thanks to efforts of Rolls Royce Bespoke Design Team. This new design will replace the more traditional but highly recognizable RR badge, which has been in use ever since the company came into existence in 1904, on these three special RR cars.

Carrying their new special badge, three Phantom Series II Drophead Coupes, all painted in English White, took centre stage during the closing ceremony of London 2012 Olympics yesterday. Three British artists rendered a symphony of British music while the cars made their entrance across the auditorium each driven by specially trained Rolls Royce employees.

The newly designed badge is seen with the Spirit of Ecstasy with the Union Jack prominently displayed. Emphasis is paid to the steering wheel which bears a traditional laurel wreath and torch in the centre while London 2012 is also depicted along with the Olympic motto Citius, Altius, Fortius' – meaning 'Faster, Higher, Stronger'.

It may be remembered that Rolls Royce played a major part throughout the London Olympics 2012 which drew to a close yesterday. These three unique cars each hand built at Rolls Royce at Goodwood by a team of dedicated and passionate workers is something collectors will be vying for in unique memory of the 2012 London Olympics.
