ZF-EcoLife transmission and TopoDyn Life control to improve Indian City Bus mobility

ZF EcoLife transmission advanced technology has been incorporated into buses to help lower fuel consumption and improve mobility options. The ZF transmission is a 6-speed transmission which offers lowered fuel consumption, reduction of emissions and extended service. The ZF EcoLife transmission has been designed keeping in mind future regulations of CO2 emissions and fuel consumption parameters.

The EcoLife Transmission has been designed to help lower costs related to technical problems associated with oil changes and servicing. This is so as incorporation of this transmission module into the bus system will lower engine stress levels considerably. This technology has been incorporated in the Volvo 8400 bus which is being use as transportation in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Delhi.

The new transmission provides for passenger comfort, lower fatigue as also quick lockup of torque converter which leads to lowered fuel consumption. Topography-dependent TopoDyn Life control software has also been used in conjunction with ZF EcoLife transmissions. Lowered emissions, optimum fuel usage, elaborate braking and higher torque factors make this technology a great asset to improve City Bus transport and 'Go green'.

In the image above - ZF-EcoLife not only reduces vehicle noises and fuel consumption: Its innovative cooling concept makes the transmission fit for higher cooling water temperatures of engines with Euro 6 Exhaust Emission Standard.
