Social media has a far reaching impact on the lives of many people. There are numerous social networking sites that are available for individuals to use. Facebook is one of these sites that promote business ventures of a number of organizations and individuals. With the launch of the new 3 Series, the company looks to capitalize consumers and provide a social media whereby rapport can be built with customers and fans.
To mark this special occasion, BMW India invited Sachin Tendulkar to be the One Millionth fan on the page. It was a suitable choice as the Master Blaster has been driving BMW's since 1993. He has been the proud owner of models like the 3-series, M5 and X5. So much so is his passion that he has influenced his brother to take up driving this brand of vehicles. With Sachin Tendulkar as the One Millionth fan of BMW India on Facebook, BMW has achieved yet another milestone in their social media journey.
The BMW fan page was launched in May 2011 and has seen a lot of activity especially by individuals in the 18-34 age group. BMW reaches out to about 1.5 million people on a weekly basis and hopes to increase this number of 5 million in the coming years. Since its inception, this fan page has seen the most activity with nearly 30% of the fan base engaging in conversations and taking part in many activities being held by the company.
