BMW remote controlled mini MINI for the London Olympics

London Olympics are well underway and playing graceful host is BMW Group. BMW has already offered 160 of their 1 Series ActiveE coupes and 40 MINI E Hatchbacks for organizer's convenience. These vehicles will be used as shuttle vehicles for athletes, officials and guests to and from various venues within the Olympic Park.

Added to these models will also be Mini MINI which has been utilized for purposes of carting athlete's equipment such as hammers, javelins, discus, shots, etc. Three such vehicles will be at attendance at the venue. Each of these are zero emission vehicles, lightweight and will possess a removable sunroof so as to gain access to sport gear in its interiors.

These Mini MINIs are created specially for use at the games venue and will be operated by Games Markers specially assigned and trained for this purpose. The Mini MINI is designed in such a way that it can accommodate equipment totaling upto 8 kgs in its interiors. It is fitted with a 10 hp motor that can offer upto 35 minutes of usage with radio control range of 100 meters while a full recharge will be completed in a matter of 80 minutes.
