George Clooney's Tesla Roadster goes under the auctioneers hammer on August 19th, 2012 at Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. Expected price is slated to be between $100,000 and $125,000, according to auction house estimates. But judging from the fact that this is a Signature 100 Roadster we are talking about prices should go much higher.
Gooding & Company, the official auction house states that this vehicle is the one which Clooney was offered when Tesla debuted the Roadster. It is a high performance electric sports car. Clooney has indicated that all proceeds from the sale of this car will be donated to Satellite Sentinel Project. This is a nonprofit organization that keeps an eye on borders of Sudan through satellite.
It may be remembered that North and South Sudan are at logger heads and volatile enough to erupt into a full fledged civil war. Clooney's Tesla Roadster is No.8 of the original Signature 100 which was built in 2008. It is fitted with premium two tone leather interior and is finished in Obsidian black metallic paint.
