For the third time in a row, Ducati won 90th Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in Colorado. Carlin Dunne set the record on a Ducati Multistrada 1200S, making it Ducati's third win in the Race to the Clouds. Dunne clocked 9:52.819 defeating his own previous record of 11:11:32 while Tracy was six seconds behind, clocking 9:58.262. Finishing under the 10 minute mark was a great achievement for the racer who was pleased with his performance. Breaking a record for the second time was a notable feat which proved the prowess of a bike like Ducati Multistrada 1200S.
Dunne maintained a speed of 144 mph across mountainous terrains which saw over 156 turns across the 12.42 mile course. The races are held at the Rocky Mountains from a start line altitude of 2,862 meters while finish line is at an altitude of 4,300 meters. Multistrada 1200S is well known for its on and off road prowess and has proved once again that it was the right choice due to its excellent handling, performance and ergonomics.
After the race, Dunne said, "Today was an emotional day. The year of work the Spider Grips Ducati team put into preparing for Pikes Peak got us across the finish line in under 10 minutes, an achievement we're very proud of. When we heard that we won and broke the record for the second time, I was speechless. The one-two finish proves the Ducati Multistrada 1200 S is the ultimate bike to conquer Pikes Peak."
