Renault's Romanian subsidiary, Dacia is credited with the design and manufacturing of Duster SUV. Recently, on a highway connecting Bucharest and Pitesti,a stretched version of Duster was spotted. It was first believed that the Duster limo which was spotted, was a one off mod for a special buyer. But later, it was revealed that the Duster limo was actually a part of Renault's Technology Program in Romania.
Designed by 23 students, the Duster limo was created in a matter of four months and this very well be the first and last stretched Duster SUV. For sure, Dacia or Renault, have no intentions of taking this long vehicle onto the production line. Just like its SUV counterpart, the limo variant too is powered by the same 1.6L petrol engine generating 104 PS power and peak torque of 145 Nm.
These post graduate students cut the chassis of Renault Duster into half from the B-pillars. After that, they added metal sheets which were 1.5 meters (59 inches) long. Obviously this huge Duster limo lacks power. But what it lacks in the performance department is nullified once you get inside the car. In its interiors you will notice a set of four captain seats with a television and android tablet. Interiors are done up in contrasting black and white to complement its matte black paint job on the exteriors.
