Munich Games were held in 1972 To mark the 40th anniversary, BMW Group Olympic Ambassador Katarina Witt was personally invited to celebrate the event at Deutsches Haus in London. Besides gracing the special event, double Olympic figure skating champion also tested the new BMW C Emission electric scooter.
This innovative scooter is at present making its presence felt at the Olympic Games in London as a smart and convenient zero emission vehicle being used by international press at the venue. By presenting this C Emission bike BMW is living upto the motto of 2012 Olympic Games "Inspire a Generation". This motto is all what this new bike from BMW stands for.
Fast, convenient, sustainable and futuristic, the BMW C Emission scooter is not only cool but employs the latest in technology, once again bringing to the fore BMW's commitment to high levels of advancement. Five such vehicles are being tested in London while they will move onto other European cities post Olympics.
BMW C Emission bike features an electric motor that works on hybrid composite structure. It can produce continuous output of about 15 bhp to about 47 bhp and can reach a top speed of 120 kmph. The scooter is fitted with a 8 kWh battery that when charged can promise a range of 100 kms. Charging is possible through a charging station or at home via a regular socket which can be completed in just 3 hours. The production version is expected to be available on road from 2014.
