Magus Cars to launch Conquest Evade SUV in India later this year for Rs 8.5 crores

Toronto based Conquest Vehicles announced their first unarmored SUV, Evade earlier this month. In India, Magus Cars will be launching Evade later this year. Conquest has launched Evade at a price of $579,000 (Rs 3.21 crores), but in India, thanks to duty and taxes, Evade SUV will be launched at a price of Rs.8.5 crores. This makes Evade the most expensive SUV in the Indian auto industry.

Conquest Vehicles, a Canada based manufacturer is yet unheard of in India. The company is better known for the Knight XV SUV, which was launched in 2010. Knight XV is an armored SUV based on a military vehicle and designed into an armored civilian vehicle which saw special favor with top government officials across the world.

The new Evade is one such SUV, unarmored and based on a Ford F550 super duty chassis. It is built of aluminum mild steel thus making it lighter than Knight XV. A spacious 2+2 limo style seating lets you slip into luxury while while other features include a roof mounted 360 degree joystick, controlled search lights, FLIR night vision cameras, power windows, three sunroofs and a step on its rear bumper which permits easy access to rear seats.

Evade possesses 400 cubic feet interior space. Not much on the engine front is known. Conquest has said that Evade will be available in both, petrol and diesel powered engine options. Military inspired, the Evade raises the bar where engineering and design are concerned. However, considering its price it remains to be seen how popular the vehicle will be in India as it gets ready for sale at the end of this year.
