Mitsubishi Mirage was earlier seen at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show after which it was launched in Thailand markets during early 2012. Today the company has announced that Mitsubishi Mirage will be launched in Japanese markets by end of August 2012.
Here the five door, small and affordable vehicle will be offered in a price range of ¥998,000 to ¥1,288,000, that is about $12,800 to $16,500. Orders have been pouring in since the 26th of June and the company already has its order books full with over 5000 orders. In Japan markets, Mitsubishi will be targeting sales of 30,000 units for the 2012 fiscal year.
More spacious and with additional power, the Mitsubishi Mirage will measure 3710 mm in length, 1,665 mm in width and will stand 1,490 mm high. It will be offered in a choice of three trim levels all fitted with a 1.0 liter 3 cylinder MIVEC gas engine mated to a new CVT transmission driving its front wheels. For the top two trim levels M and G the Mitsubishi Mirage will be fitted with Eco Drive Assist and AS&G start/stop system. These offer a 27.2 km/liter drive range making it a top end fuel efficient vehicle in Japan.
