Motorcycle branding has gained much importance with officials at Harley Davidson. The company at the very core of motorbike manufacturing, motorcycle clubs, and motorcycle racing sustains a very loyal brand community that keeps in touch through clubs, races, events and branding.
In 2010, Harley Davidson brand and logo accounted for $40 million of the company's net revenue. Their concentration on branding and advertising shows their concern and determination in projecting the brand in its true light. There are a number of reasons why motorcycle companies do not concentrate as much on branding as Harley Davidson.
For starters, many do not acknowledge the importance of branding in the first place. Secondly, there's a possibility that people don't emphasize on recognition of craftsmanship that is involved with marketing campaigns and thirdly, not everyone is willing to or do not see the importance of shelling out that kind of money involved in launching effective and innovative marketing campaigns.
