WALL-E, the lovelorn robot from Pixar movie has come to life to bring happiness and joy in the lives of cancer stricken children. Mike Senna, a Californian based robotics enthusiast is the brain behind these efforts and he has successfully built a life sized working model of R2-D2 from Star Wars fame.
Senna has been taking his walking talking model around City of Hope – a pediatric cancer charity and when his joy knew no bounds when he experienced the joy in the faces of these suffering children. he entire project was financed from his own funds and he worked on building the model in his spare time after working at a regular office job. Senna estimates that he has spent between 3200 to 3800 hours working on this project which he has built from the ground up.
These efforts have paid off after nearly two years that the construction of Wall-E took to complete. The computer engineer spent time studying various blue prints and preparing some of his own based on repeated viewings of Wall-E DVD. It is complete in all respects down to the "Buy n Large" logo on its rear end.
