2013 Nissan Pathfinder SUV officially revealed

Nissan unveiled the 2013 Pathfinder as a concept at the Detroit Motor Show earlier this year. The Japanese car maker has now released the first series of photos and videos of the 2013 Pathfinder production variant. It may be remembered that the first generation Pathfinder ruled the roads during 1985 to1995 while the second generation Pathfinder was popular from 1996 to 2004 and the third generation from 2005 to 2012.

With the fourth generation of Nissan Pathfinder now revealed, the Japanese car manufacturers are well aware of market sentiments moving more towards more fuel efficient vehicles and this is exactly what they are planning for the upcoming model of Pathfinder. 2013 Pathfinder is based on the same platform seen on the Infiniti JX Crossover which will result in lower weight by 227 kgs as compared to its predecessor.

Now the FWD model will weigh 1,882 kgs while the 4WD model will weigh 1,946 kgs both with towing capacity of 2,268 kgs. FWD model will offer 20 mpg city, 26 mpg highway and 22 mpg combined, while 4WD model offers 19 mpg city, 25 mpg highway and 21 mpg combined.

Up to date safety and infotainment features are seen in the new Pathfinder SUV, which will include Nissan Navigation System, Bluetooth Hands free Phone System, Intelligent key, 13 speaker Bose Audio System and other entertainment features. Prices are still unknown with the company holding this information till launch dates.
