BMW and Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) have entered into a joint agreement to build a midsized sports car as they also collaborate on the use of alternative fuels. This new midsized sports car will be developed by the end of 2013 and will be akin to others developed by Toyota such as the compact Scion FR-S with Subaru. Future development will concentrate on the fuel cell system, sports vehicle concet, lightweight technology, and post-lithium-battery technology. Photo Gallery (3 images)
Where the new sports car is concerned, it will be a combination of Toyota’s environmentally friendly hybrid and fuel cell technology which will be seen along with an efficient and premium category vehicle from BMW. BMW will use carbon fiber composites on its upcoming i3 electric car which goes into production this year, of which the company has set a target of producing 30,000 units per annum.
