Hyundai Sonata sedan sales suspended in Australia

 Hyundai Motors have decided to suspend sales of i45 sedan in Australia. i45, better known as Hyundai Sonata in India, has seen rise in demand in countries of Middle East, and North America.

On the other hand, Hyundai Australia has not managed to achieve expected sales of the i45. TMR reports, due to this, it has become difficult for the South Korean car company to continue selling the Sonata, a.k.a. i45 in the Australian auto industry. Photo Gallery (23 images)

Hyundai i45 went on sale in Australia in May 2010, taking the place of previous generation NF series Sonata. Sales were at their zenith in 2011 when the company sold 4,872 units in the country. Last year, however sales dropped by 25.3% to 3,640 units. The Hyundai i40 was designed in Germany specially according to European specifications. It is available in petrol and diesel variants with sedan and wagon body styles. Hyundai states that all remaining supplies of the i45 will be absorbed by corporate and government fleets.
