Li Zhi Cong wins at Suzuka round of GT Asia series championship in his Porsche 911 GT3 R

Keeping up his good performance Li Zhi Cong swept up his second win of the GT Asia series Championship during the races held last Sunday at Suzuka. Starting at the eight place this young driver showed great resilience and determination to reach the top of the grid. The Porsche 911 GT3 R prepared by the Asia racing Team helped Li Zhi Cong to get ahead of his competitor and win the race.

Qualifying rounds of this race did not go very well for this young driver as he did not have any knowledge of the track. Due to this reason, he came in 6th during the qualifying 1. However during the qualifying 2 he improved his lap time but was penalized for overtaking on yellow flags.

During the Saturday afternoon race, Li was able to finish 4th in round 7, this was even after he was penalized for flouting rules of the pit stop. After this incident he made steady progress and climbed to the third place after which a pit stop infringement relegated him to the fourth place. The driver kept his nerve and when Race 2 started he was at the forefront of the battle for the leading position. After completion of this race, Li leads the table by seven points to Mok Weng Sun.
