Protyre Formula Renault BARC Championship races over the weekend give rise to a trio of new winners

Donington park races saw a trio of winners among them a new entrant David Wagner. Josh Webster added a fourth race to his name when he won in the 10th round. This victory allowed him to move up the ladder and he is separated from series leader Scott Malvern by a single point.

A successful 11th round allowed Malvern to capitalize on his performance and he came in a close second to Wagner after which his 23 point lead allowed him to move to the front of the point table considering this championship. The race between Webster and Malvern saw some interesting moments before Webster stole the show notching his fifth win of the year.

Round 11 saw Malvern perform brilliantly turning this advantage into a win over Wagner who came in a close second holding off a determined Middlehurst. The initial start was a bit delayed owing to a collision between Baptista and Wauer. Middlehurst and Webster drove brilliantly and the duel between them continued till the very end.

After round 12 the standings are as follows: 1st place: Scott Malvern with 324 pts, 2nd place: Josh Webster with 301 pts, 3rd place: David Wagner with 223 pts, 4th: place Seb Morris with 208 pts, 5th place: Macaulay Walsh with 202 pts, 6th place: Kieran Vernon with 193 pts.

Protyre Formula Renault BARC Championship at Donington Park on 18th/19th August 2012

The weekend 18th and 19th August will see crowds converge at Donington Park as the one make single seater category Protyre Formula Renault BARC Championships will be held. There are just five races remaining and 170 points are to be won as the championships are still open even though there are two drivers who are likely to be main candidates.

Cullen Motorsport's Scott Malvern -Barkingside, Ilford and MGR Motorsport's Josh Webster - Stowmarket, Suffolk are the two top contenders but it still is anyone's game. These two racers followed way behind by the other contenders with Seb Morris – Markford, Wrexham in third place. Seb has taken three wins so far in his first year of participation in single seater racing and someone the top two contenders have to keep an eagle eye out for.

There are two new contenders who have joined the grid for Donington races. These two youngsters are 17-year-old Struan Moore - Trinity, Jersey and 16-year-old Falco Wauer an American-Norwegian national who will be the youngest driver on the grid but with a fair amount of experience. Qualifying rounds 10, 11 and 12 Protyre Formula Renault BARC Championships will get underway at 10.30 on Saturday August 18, 2012 and will continue on Sunday August 19th at 11.50 and 16.50 hours.
