On the 2nd of July, 2012 Renault Twizy won an award for the best international design. From a collection of 4,515 applications this year, Renault Twizy was chosen as the best by a panel of 30 distinguished international design experts. 'Best of the Best product design' award has been won the second time by Renault after Megane II won it in 2003. Outstanding features like its revolutionary design, agility, safety system and original ergonomics propelled the car to the forefront as opposed to other vehicle. According to the panel, Twizy is a convincing and expressive transportation option for people in the near future.
Easy handling, ergonomics and safety features have won over hearts of prospective buyers. Eric Diemert, Design Director, Renault Sport Technologies said that the company was happy to see Twizy's concept design, lines and functions appreciated by a panel of international design experts. He also said, the Twizy was designed to bee an urban mobility option which can be used easily by one and all. On another note, he made it known that the award would encourage Renault to design innovative and attractive transportation options which is an important part of the Renault range of vehicles.
The Renault Twizy electric vehicle design incorporates modern design, sweeping lines and an open bodywork coupled with original gull wing doors and a windshield that extends to the rear of the vehicle. There are two versions of this car available, difference being in power output (15kW and 4kW). Low centre of gravity and wide disc brakes ensure a stable ride.
