Zero emission BMW electric vehicles keep 2012 London Olympics green

BMW will be providing a total of 4000 cars to be used as fleet vehicles during the London Olympics. The company has lived upto the challenge posed by London Organizing Committee that fleet vehicles should emit an average of 120 g CO2/km. This target is obviously being met by all the 4000 strong BMW vehicles pressed into service which will be used by guests, dignitaries, officials and participants at the upcoming London Olympics being held from July 27th to August 12th, 2012.

Out of the lot of 4000 vehicles, 200 will be all electric which will include 160 BMW 1 Series ActiveE and 40 MINI E two seaters. Diesel and 5 Series hybrids, motorcycles and 400 bicycles will make up the rest of the vehicle supplied.

These vehicles will be used as transportation facilities, some will be pressed into service as pace cars during cycling and running events wile even more of these zero emission vehicles will be used at Weymouth Harbor for drawing racing boats out of the water. BMW low emission vehicles are also being used to tow horse ambulance trailers and provide mobile camera platforms throughout these events.

Audi A1 e-tron in German colors for the 2012 London Olympics

Audi has designed it's A1 E-tron model with German colors as it's a partner of the German Olympics Sports Confederation (DOSB) and National Paralympic Committee Germany (DSB). Basically it's an electrically powered car with a range extender. This Audi A1 E-tron model reaches a maximum speed of about 135 km/h based on the output of its 75 kW (102 bhp) engine. In case of long journeys, this car has been equipped with a compact combustion engine which charges the battery while traveling. This process allows the range of this vehicle to be extended to 250 km.

The Audi A1 E-tron is an exhibition car and will reinforce shuttle services between the German house and MS Deutschland Cruise ship. Audi has provided a fleet of 60 vehicles so as to make transportation and mobility easy for those using these services. The Audi A1 e-tron sports black bezel headlamps, car graphics in the German colors as also initials 2012 on the side mirrors and A1 e-tron on the doors. Audi etron price is not disclosed.

Cadillac 2013 ATS ready to take on BMW, Mercedes and Audi: Commercial to be aired during 2012 London Olympics opening ceremony

ATS vs. the World advertisement campaign is debuting during the opening ceremony of 2012 London Olympic Games slated for July 27th. Cadillac is on the brink of taking on the world when it comes to cars in the small and luxury segment. The company is planning a new 2013 ATS which is expected to compete in a segment which is ruled by Audi, BMW and Mercedes Benz. This TV commercial for ATS during the Olympic Games will give the company a head start as the new commercial is also posted on a YouTube video titled "Cadillac vs. The World Trailer.

Shot by Joe Berlinger and film maker Jeff Zwart this new commercial showcases the ATS traverse through the streets of Monaco and to mountain trails of China and Morocco. Derek Hill, son of racer Phil Hill is seen at controls while Ross Thomas, actor and film maker acts as commentator and is seen in the passenger seat.

Cadillac ATS is expected to be seen in company showrooms later this year while prices are expected in $35,795 to $42,090 bracket. ATS entry level model will have a 2.5 liter four cylinder 202 hp engine and will be priced at $35,795 while the top end model will be priced at $42,090 and will be fitted with a 3.6 liter V6 engine having 320 hp power.
