Volvo Cars along with Fashion Diva Ritu Beri at 2012 Lakme Fashion Week with 'Icons of Luxury'

Volvo Cars added a bit of glitz and glamour to the Lakme Fashion Week by presenting 'Icons of Luxury'. On the inaugural day of Lakme Fashion Week Volvo Cars brought to the fore Volvo Car's brand philosophy 'Designed around You', along with fashion diva Ritu Beri, who, inspired by the Volvo collection presented her works specially dedicated to the contemporary woman of today.

Fashion model Jesse Randhawa walked the ramp as Ritu Beri's fashion collection featured 'Blu Jacket'. This 'Blu Jacket' collection was an eclectic mix of art, luxury and opulence as the entire collection was woven around Volvo Cars Scandinavian presentation. The color theme was deep blue and hence the name Blu Jacket.

Fabric used in all designs displayed was soft and leather like resembling the interiors of a Volvo car. Each of these designs was simple yet chic, comfortable yet classy depicting Volvo Car interiors to perfection. Ritu Beri is also noted for the special jacket created for final winners from India who will participate in the World Final Volvo Golf Challenge 2012.

Volvo Cars Icons of Luxury at 2012 Lakme Fashion week: Designed Around You

Fashion and cars are one side of the same coin. Many a times it has been seen that carmakers seek out specific designers to attract customers. Keeping this aspect in mind, Volvo cars and Ritu Beri a fashion designer will be seen together at the Lakme Fashion Week. The designer's collection was put on display for the public in Volvo cars at an event which was attended by famous personalities.

This particular collection of Ritu Beri gives a new meaning to Volvos philosophy – 'Designed around you'. Ritu Beri is the only Indian designer who has been featured in the magazine Acoustyl. Her collection draws inspiration from Marilyn Monroe as it's her belief that every woman has a little bit of the iconic star in them. The collection has a western theme and has been designed keeping in mind soft palette and comfortable silhouettes.

According to R. Beri, sophisticated line of design, luxury and innovation are the key elements of a Volvo car that have been incorporated by her in the collection themed, 'Icons of luxury'.The collection will be showcased at the Lakme fashion week Winter/Festive 2012 on 3rd august 2012.
