It started off as a dream project for 63 year old Thomas Chacko who undertook a 78 day tour of 100 towns and cities across the length and breadth of India in world's cheapest car – Tata Nano. This 78 day expedition which commenced on May 3, 2012 has now come to an end on July 21st. Mr Chacko has successfully traversed across 26,500 kms, visited all Indian state Capitals, Union Territories and over 100 small towns along his route.
Chacko had chosen the Tata Nano as it is the one vehicle that drew enormous attention when it was launched. Being the world's cheapest car it was looked upon with a great deal of apprehension but the vehicle has lived upto expectations in more ways than one. It has good ground clearance and is a good performer where on road and off road conditions are concerned.
Tata Nano has proved its worth in Chacko's expeditions from heights of Bhutan, Ladakh and Khardung La to depths of Kanyakumari tackling most rugged of terrain to lush green topography of the countryside. Tata Nano has been a dependable vehicle through this 78 day expedition and has lived upto the test of endurance whatever road and weather conditions.
