Audi has revealed their new 2013 R8 facelift even before it makes it world premier at the Paris Motor Show this September. From initial inspection the 2013 R8 Coupe and Roadster are seen with minor amendments both in its external and internal features, while a new 7 speed S tronic dual clutch transmission takes the place of the earlier 6 speed automated manual R tronic.
Other external features include a six point single frame grille and chrome inserts while a redesigned bumper with air inlets are also added to the upcoming model. At its rear end is a set of LED tail lamps, a restyled logo, new diffuser and rounded tailpipes which is offered on all engine variants. Interior modifications include Nappa leather upholstery for seats, door panels and all interior linings.
Where power and speed are concerned, the 4.2 liter V8 engine is capable of 424 hp and 430 Nm torque with top speed of 300 km/h, while the 5.2 liter V10 engine promises 518 hp and 530 Nm torque and a top speed of 314 km/h. Auto emissions now stand lowered by 22 g/km and weight is also reduced due to the inclusion of a new Wave design for brake disks that lowers weight by nearly 2 kgs as against the earlier round disc brakes.
Prices in Germany start at €113,500 ($137,576 or Rs 77.15 lacs) for the V8 Coupe while V8 Spyder will cost €124,800 ($151,266 or 84.82 lacs). R8 V10 Plus will be available for €173,200 (209,931 or Rs 1.17 crores). US markets however will have to wait for sales which is expected in the first quarter of the coming year.
