Cannot afford a Ferrari of your own – Jakarta now offers Ferrari taxis

Operators of taxis in Jakarta will soon be seen whizzing down the streets in Ferrari and Porsches. Such a venture was introduced in the country from last Thursday and as an introductory offer customers will even be given a free ride on Saturday and Monday so as to give commuters a feel of the luxury of travelling in one of these super luxurious cars.

Jakarta based MM Cab is the company that has announced these luxury taxi rides and will be shuttling passengers in its Ferrari 360 and Porsche Boxster S Taxis free of charge in two shifts between 11.00 am and 2.30 pm on Saturday and Monday and in the evening between 3.00 pm and 7.00 pm.

Official launch date is July 18th after which, passengers will have to pay for these taxi rides which will have a base fare of Rp.100,000 ($10.59) will definitely be much more than the flag down fares for Blue Bird taxis which is Rp.6,000 ($0.6) while those for other lower priced taxi services offered by Express, Kosti and Putra are Rp.5,000 ($0.5).

MM Cab has assured customers that they will be offering well trained drivers who are fully aware of the city roads while taxi rates will be affordable to most middle income group customers. Depending on its success in Jakarta, the company is hopeful to start this luxury taxi service in other cities in the not too distant future.
