Europe bound Skoda Rapid launch this September

2013 Skoda Rapid Sedan for Europe will officially reveal itself at the Paris Motor Show later this year. For starters it can be seen that the Skoda Rapid is based on an extended Volkswagen Polo platform that is 4.48 meters long, 1.71 mtrs wide and 1.46 meters high while comfortably seating upto five adults. Boot space too is enhanced and offers 550 liters of luggage space.

Positioned between the Fabia and Octavia that will be also debuting at the Paris Motor Show, Skoda Rapid sedan is being offered in a choice of four petrol and two diesel engines all complying with the stringent EU5 standards.

Where petrol variants are concerned engine options will include a 1.2 liter MPI three cylinder engine producing 74 hp power, a 1.2 liter TSI turbo engine producing 85 hp power and 103 hp power while the 1.3 TSI turbo will produce 121 hp power. Skoda Rapid is being offered in a choice of two diesel engines – one a 1.6 liter engine with direct common rail injection offering 89 hp and the other a 1.6 liter TDI CR offering 104 hp both of which will be mated to a seven speed DSG double clutch transmission.
