Owner of a vehicle repair shop Zenop Tuncer did not even know that the Mercedes Benz he purchased through the internet belonged to Adolf Hitler himself and was tailor made to suit the Great Dictator's requirements. Tuncer, who owns a shop in Edgewater, New Jersey, purchased a 1942 Mercedes 320 Cabriolet D.
The vehicle belonged to an Ohio collector but even he was unaware of the vehicle's antecedents even though he was aware that the car came over from the war when his grandfather brought the car to United States. Tuncer, who specializes in restoration of classic vehicles, was on the lookout for a 540K model for his friend and real estate developer Fred Daibes.
It was by chance that this particular model came up complete with a swastika icon. While its illustrious previous ownership is now widely debated, the present owner has decided to leave the car in an 'as is where is' condition
