To say, Nokia is dying a slow death is an understatement. The decline in demand for Symbian handsets has hit Nokia badly. Needless to say the Finnish powerhouse will slowly but surely stop launching handsets with Symbian OS. However, Nokia is ensuring that existing users get updates regularly.
The Belle Refresh Update for C6-01, C7, E7, N8 and X7 has been rolled out by Nokia. With this update, users will get enhanced performance features along with improved visual changes. With this update comes a browser that is improved and provides enhanced HTML5 support.
The software update brings in Nokia’s Map Suite 2.0, and revamped music player. Users can also avail of homescreen widgets that include the ‘photo wall’ as was on the earlier Nokia 808 Pureview. To update their handset individuals will have to dial *#0000#, and select Check for Updates. The OTA-Over the Air update is only 12 MB in size. Individuals using Nokia’s PC Suite will be required to download 350MB Rom image. Nokia has announced they will be rolling out the new update on other Symbian devices in the days to come.
