Essential electronics, robotic shops and flexible body shops have allowed this vehicle to stay at the top in the consumer market. Ford has sold 489,616 units of Focus in the first half of this year as compared to second placed Toyota Corolla which registered sales of 462,187 units during the same period. Since 1903, Ford Focus is the number one selling car for the the first half of 2012 and keeping this thought afresh, Ford also celebrates manufacturing its 350th millionth vehicle, again, a Ford Focus. The 350,000,000th Ford car was manufactured at Ford Thailand Manufacturing facility, which is a $450 million project. This facility is situated in Rayong Thailand and has been designed to build the Ford Focus, which is currently being sold in four other countries.
Ford has revolutionized car manufacture with the launch of several vehicles that showcase performance, versatility, value and improved fuel economy. The One Ford plan has enabled for standardizing of practices, increasing sales in markets as also identifying select platforms in markets for global sale of vehicles.
Ford has invested $6.7 million in the Asia Pacific region and hopes that by 2020 this area will account for 60% of total sales. Ford aims to double the number of dealerships and also improve customer rapport, so as to, promote sales and meet the needs of customers in this region.
