With acquisition of Ducati Motor Holdings by Audi AG, the company has gone ahead with appointment of a new Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Rupert Stadler will be the new President of the Board while Gabriele Del Torchio and Claudio Domenicali of Ducati will be on the Board together with Horst Glaser and Axel Strotbek of Audi AG.
At the same meeting, Gabriele Del Torchio is appointed as CEO of Ducati Motor Holding while also electing the new Ducati Motor Holding Executive Committee of Members of the Board.
Audi AG also appointed Gabriele Del Torchio to Board of Directors of Automobili Lamborghini SPA.
Ducati was founded in 1926 and has since 1946 been instrumental in the production of sports oriented and off road motorcycles. Desmodromic performance engines, innovative designs and state of the art technology are characteristic of their two wheelers. Their motorcycles are divided into families and carry the names Diavel, Hypermotard, Monster, Multistrada, Streetfighter and Superbike.
Ducati products are sold in over 80 countries across the globe with Europe, North America and Asia Pacific form their major markets. Ducati competes in World Superbike Championships and World MotoGP Championships. The company has won 17 Manufacturers' titles and 14 Riders' titles and in 2011 sped past the historic milestone of 300 race victories.
