The current model of Ford Mustang will now be on sale in the Philippines with deliveries commencing from September 2012. This step is being taken by the company as they get set to launch their next generation Mustang which is currently under development as a global product.
Ford is confident that this current model will be well accepted by buyers in the Philippines. This is not the first vehicle that the company has launched in the Philippine markets. Earlier the company had launched the Ranger pickup truck, Explorer 2.0 EcoBoost SUV and the Ford Focus.
Ford Mustang will be presented to Philippine markets in two variants – a 3.7 liter V6 offering 305 hp and a GT model fitted with a 5.0 liter V8 engine offering 402 hp. While the former is priced at PhP 499,000 or US$ 59,900 the latter is priced at PhP 2,899,000 or US$ 69,400. The car will be offered in the market through exclusive Ford dealers based in Philippines.
