New Mercedes Benz B Class beckons Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg in Germany

Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 drivers Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg yesterday tried their hand at production and assembly when they visited Mercedes Benz plant in Germany. Here the racers got up close to production activities at the plant where A Class and B Class are under production, and put their mechanical skills into practice as they assembled a few pistons and cylinder heads of the new AMG engine at Affalterbach.

The completed V8 engine of CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake will bear an engine plate signed by the two Formula One stars along with a signature of master engine builder as per company policy. Installation of the 5.5 liter twin turbo engine in the CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake will get its world premier at Night of the Stars in Hockenheim on the 21st July 2012.

As the Rastatt plant gets set to celebrate 20 years in service, the racers also signed their names in the "Golden Book" and personally delivered two new B Class units to chosen winners. The new Mercedes Benz B Class though ranked lower in the premium segment is expected to boost Mercedes sales.
