Volkswagen reveals newly designed Gol hatchback and Voyage sedan BlueMotion in Brazil

Volkswagen Brazil has launched the all new Gol hatchback and Gol Voyage sedan. Manufactured at the Volkswagen plant in South America, the two updated models are expected to continue their best selling performance in the Brazilian auto industry. In Europe, VW Group is getting ready to unveil the all new Golf hatch Mk7 at the Paris Motor Show.

Incidentally Gol means Goal in Spanish and Portuguese and ever since this car was launched in the mid 1980s it has been going great guns specially in South American markets. Over 5 million such vehicles were sold in Brazilian markets.

Now reintroduced with a new design, Gol Hatchback and Voyage sedan are expected to see as much popularity as in the past. These two models get new body style, bumper, grille and headlamps in the fore while at the rear there is a new tailgate specially for the hatchback.

Internal changes though are limited and only restricted to lighting and trim décor. Controls are improved while ergonomics are enhanced. Engine upgrades include a new bi-fuel 1.0 liter engine with 72 hp when running on gasoline while this is boosted to 76hp while on ethanol. Speeds are enhanced and the new redesigned Gol can now sprint from 0 to 62 mph (0-100 kmph) in 12.9 seconds while reaching a top speed of 103 mph (165 kmph).
