Chyrsler says 2013 RAM 1500 offers best mileage in class without affecting capability

Chrysler 2013 Ram 1500 pickup is slated for sale across US by October this year. Starting price is at $23,585 which includes destination charges as announced by Chrysler. Top of the line Ram 1500 will be an all wheel drive Larmie Longhorn which will be priced at $48,415.

The 2013 lineup promises to be fuel efficient, offering 18 mpg (7.65 kmpl) in city limits and 25 mpg (10.63 kmpl) on the highway, thanks to its 3.6 liter Pentastar V6 engine mated to an 8 speed automatic transmission. 2013 Ram 1500 is also lighter and more aerodynamic, which also helps in keeping fuel efficiency competitive. Power is enhanced by 42% and now stands at 305 hp while torque is up by 13% to offer 269 lb/ft and last but by no means least fuel efficiency is enhanced by 20% as compared to the earlier model, 3.7L V6.

It is all these factors that make the Ram 1500 compete strongly against Ford F-150, Chevrolet Silverado or the Chevrolet Colorado midsized pickup truck. Sales of the current 2012 Ram 1500 rose by 23% from January to July 2012 in the US markets while Ford F Series saw a 12% increase in sales and Silverado sales were up 3.5%.
