Subaru WRX STI now available in a faster and a cheaper option

Japanese car manufacturer, Subaru has announced a price cut of £6,000 (€7,600 or US$9,500) for the WRX ST in the UK, bringing the price to £26,995 (€34,200 or US$42,700) for the 2.5L 300 PS model. This makes WRX STI cost just £2,000 more than the base BRZ SE or £500 over and above BRZ Lux edition MT. Subaru Impreza WRX STI is a sedan with turbocharged SUBARU BOXER engines, wide body design and sports tuned suspension.

New edition called WRX STI 340R is also announced that can be availed of in an upgraded package which costs £1,599 and can upgrade power to 335 hp and 490 Nm torque. The 340R can also accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds which is a 0.5 second advantage over the earlier model with better in gear acceleration due to enhanced torque.

The fourth generation Impreza was unveiled at the New York Auto Show early last year. Size remained the same as per previous series but the vehicle itself was brought in a lighter and more fuel efficient form. The current model provides better cabin space with better leg and head room while it possesses rear 65/35 split seatbacks which can be folded down to add additional room to boot area.

The WRX STI was already an exciting car, but improved power and torque, as well as the unmistakeable Subaru exhaust note, make the car even more tempting."
