Riding by the success of a similar venture undertaken last year, when Chevrolet and General Motors released a Pink Chevy Camaro Pace Car to support Breast Cancer, the company has done it again this time round as well. Last Friday, Chevrolet Racing spent time with 30 breast cancer survivors. Besides being given a race around the track by Jamie McMurray and Ron Hornaday Jr, they were also given the opportunity to meet NASCAR Series driver Danica Partick who will visit survivors, pose for photographs with them and also sign autographs.
At Atlanta Motor Speedway every lap run under the caution flag will receive a $200 contribution by Chevrolet to American Cancer Society which is working toward fighting of Breast Cancer. A similar venture undertaken in 2011 received $12,800 when 64 such laps were run.
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and to get ready for this, Chevrolet has undertaken this drive in September itself. Besides this, Chevrolet will also be announcing brand, dealer and employee activities in support of American Breast Cancer Society.
