As 2013 Peugeot 208 GTi gets ready for its world premiere at Paris Motor Show later this month, the French car maker has officially revealed images and specifications of their new hot hatch. Weight loss is expected to be noticed in the new model which is tagged at being 1,160 kgs, a good 165 kgs lighter than its predecessor, 207.
Where engine details are concerned, 208 GTi will be fitted with more powerful engine than the 207, offering output of 197 hp and peak torque of 275 Nm. Acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph will be achieved in 7 seconds though top speed which the 208 GTi will be capable of is yet not revealed. However, CO2 emissions will be at 145 g/km.
Exteriors will be seen with a new front grille, chrome covered mirror caps, side sills and black rear diffuser. LED headlamps and chrome strip with GTi logo is prominently displayed on its C Pillar. Interiors will receive leather treatment with contrasting stitching complimented by an LED backlit instrument panel. A few special edition GTi's with Satin Pearlescent White paint and 17" wheels with red aluminum caps are to be released with a front grille bearing colors of the French flag.
