The past weekend Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup Round 9 in Denmark proved to be perfect for Nicki Thiim. It was at the Spa-Francorchamps, that Hermes Attempto Racing pilot enjoyed his first victory in Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup held on Sunday, thus following in the footsteps of his illustrious father, DTM Champion Kurt Thiim who was fastest in free practice and qualifying with a 450 hp Porsche 911 GT3 RSR.
Sunday's race saw Thiim Jr. in his Porsche right at the front of the line at start position. He was behind the winner by just 0.969 seconds. The race was held across a 7.004 km GP circuit. While first four racers sped to the finish line it was not so eventful for Christian Engelhart of Konrad Motorsport and Jeroen Mul of Team Bleekemolen.
These two racers crashed out due to collision, fortunately without any injury while the rest of the race continued uninterrupted. For Nicki Thiim, winning his first Supercup was something he was very excited about specially since it was achieved on the Spa circuit which is looked upon as being a challenge.
