As chaos reigned supreme at the recently concluded J K Tyre National Racing Championships in the opening round three of their fastest qualifiers had to retire during the 15th lap of the race making M Shivaramakrishnan see instant success at the Kari Motor Speedway.
Those who dropped out of the event has witnessed serious electrical and mechanical failures in their vehicles. Shivaramakrishnan was closely followed by C Rajaram in a Swift. Avdumber Hede of Goa also took pole position for the Polo R Cup in a new petrol powered Race Polo. This was a marked improvement over diesel powered Race Polo by two seconds over a lap of 2.1 km stretch of Kari Motor Speedway, Coimbatore. The Goan racer clocked time of 1:15:474 on the 2.2 km track and was joined by A Sandeep Kumar of Chennai with a lap time of 1:15:680.
The newly introduced petrol TSI Race Polo made an exciting debut. TSI Race Polo is also 2 seconds faster as compared to last year's Round One on the same track which saw Vishnu Prasad clock 1:17:305. Hede could be happy having started off this season on a good and winning note. It is his endeavor to get more comfortable in the new petrol TSI Race Polo and is looking forward to converting a lead into a win. The following day saw Duez in first place clocking 19:17:543, Alisha Abdullah in second spot, seven seconds later while Prashanth Tharani Singh came in third just six tenths after.
