At the Mid-Ohio Sports car Course this August, the 2013 SRT Viper GTS-R will make it's 1st on-track race appearance. This will be its maiden appearance. The company is excited of this participation in a world class competition with their SRT Viper 2013 model which they say will compete with the best of sports cars in the arena.
Two SRT Viper GTS-R cars will be participating at American Le Mans races as they compete with Aston Martin Vantage, BME M3 GT, Corvette C6.R, Ferrari F458 Italia, Lotus Evora and Porsche 911 GT3 RSR. Both the GTS Vipers will have a weight of 2745 pounds while each of the cars will produce between 450 to 500 hp and will have a top speed of 180 mph.
To ensure all round performance and to witness the great debut, 30 SRT Motorsports team members will be on hand. The performance of these cars have been judged and tests ensured that the cars meet the stringent standards of the company both where performance and speed of the cars are concerned. Though just limited schedule this season, SRT Motorsports team will be seen participating full time in the future.
