At the ongoing Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in Monterey, California, Chrysler Group will be showcasing the 2013 SRT Viper. This vehicle will be limited in edition and will be similar in a number of aspects to its predecessors from 1996 and 2006. Painted bright blue with white stripes parallel from front to rear, the sports car will be fitted with five spoke forged aluminum wheels. Viper 2013 model will be powered by an 8.4 liter V10 engine with 640 hp and 600 lb/ft torque which is common to all regular models.
The engine is mated to a TR6060 six speed manual transmission with improved short – throw shifter and gear rations which have been tightened from 3.07 to 3.55. Interiors will be done up in Black Laguna leather with distinctive stitching seen on seats, door trims, instrument consol, steering wheel and handles while its headliner is seen in Alcantara leather with bezels finished in Satin Silver.
Despite its upgrades to engine, SRT has kept its weight at minimum and has even managed to reduce it by 25 lbs thanks to its carbon fiber body and extensive use of aluminum. Chrysler has confirmed that its 2013 Viper will be limited in edition but have not specified how many it plans to build.
