2013 VW Amarok pickup truck provided with a powerful diesel engine priced from €19,835

VW's Hanover power plant has redesigned the Amarok pickup truck coinciding with the manufacture of double cabs Amarok variants for the European and Russian markets. Main changes are seen in the 2.0L BiTurboTDI diesel unit with power being increased from 161bhp to 177bhp. The increase output brings this upgraded version to the level of automatic transmission models.Volkswagen claims that this change in the power doesn't affect the fuel efficiency or CO2 emissions.

VW BlueMotion technology which was available with the automatic models has now being incorporated within the manual transmission models. This technology feature includes start/stop, regenerative braking with optimized rolling of tires. This has been provided with the rear wheel drive system as also the four wheel drive system.

According to VW inclusion of this feature helps one save 0.5L of fuel per 100 kilometers. The 2013 Amarok has a towing capacity of 3 tonnes and 3.2 tonnes which are related to the manual and automatic four wheel drive transmission vehicles respectively. The tailgate can carry loads upto 200 Kgs and can also be locked.

Other features include follow me home assist, light and sight package with rain sensor as also park pilot system, automatic headlight control, anti dazzle interior mirror and a new cornering light system. Single cab 2013 Amarok has been priced at €19,835 (£15,769 or Rs 13.67 lacs) while the double cab variant has been priced at €22,610 (£17,795 or Rs 15.58 lacs).
