DB Regio Bus, Germany's major transport operators have ordered a total of 150 Daimler Buses to be used as fleet transport vehicles. Deliveries are expected to commence form early 2013 wherein Mercedes Bens and Setra brand urban and intercity buses will be provided. These buses will be ideally suited for both regional and urban transport facilities. They are highly fuel efficient vehicles and low in emission which makes these vehicles effective for public transportation use.
Each of these Mercedes Benz buses are fitted with BlueTec SCR diesel technology and meet Enhanced Environmentally Friendly Vehicle emission standards which is on up on the Euro V standards. The buses are designed with low flooring and with two to three doors and a length of 12 to 19 meters. This design is also suitable for use by elderly or handicapped persons especially since it has a wheelchair ramp. Four distinct seats are also categorized for elderly and handicapped passengers.
