Hyundai Elantra Fluidic 2012 launched at Rs 12.51 lacs and Rs 12.91 lacs for petrol and diesel variants respectively

Hyundai Motors India launched their all new 2012 Elantra Fluidic in Indian markets in Delhi earlier today at an ex-showroom price of Rs 12.51 lacs for petrol base variant and Rs 12.91 lacs for diesel base variant. To be launched both in diesel and petrol version, Fluidic Elantra petrol version will possess a 1.8 liter MPFi with dual VTVT engine with displacement of 1797cc. This engine will be capable of generating 147.4 bhp at 6,500 rpm while peak torque will stand at 177.5Nm at 4,700 rpm. The engine will be mated to a six speed manual / automatic transmission system offering a high level of fuel efficiency which is slated to stand at 14.3 kmpl.

Its diesel counterpart will possess a 1.6 liter engine with 1582 cc displacement, which will be fitted with CRDi technology mated to a Variable Geometry Turbocharger. This is the same engine that powers Verna Fluidic. Peak power will stand at 126.2 bhp at 40,00 rpm while peak torque will stand at 259.8 Nm between 1,900 to 2,750 rpm. Fuel efficiency will stand at 19.1 kmpl while with manual transmission this till elevate to 22.7 kmpl.

Next generation Hyundai Elantra Fluidic though just launched in Indian markets, it has already met with remarkable success in auto markets around the globe. 2012 Elantra has won a host of awards including the 2012 car of the Year in North America, South Africa, Canada and Philippines. With the new Elantra, Hyundai India will compete with Toyota Camry and new Chevrolet Cruze. Camry too will be launched in a new avatar in India later this month on the 24th.
