Chief Minister of Haryana, Bhupinder Singh Hooda has announced a cash award of Rs 1.5 Crore to grappler Sushil Kumar for has outstanding performance that won him a Silver medal at the 2012 London Olympics. The Chief Minister has also said that Sushil Kumar will get a piece of land to set up his own Wrestling Academy in Sonepat.
Kumar was beaten by Japanese Tatsuhiro Yonemitsu 3-1 in the 66kg freestyle category gold medal bout and had to settle for Silver. Hooda congratulated Sushil Kumar for his exceptional performance that got him the silver medal and said his achievement has made the country proud.
Kumar becomes the first ever Indian sportsman to win back-to back-Olympic medals, after clinching bronze in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. A cash award of Rs 1 Crore has also been announced for shuttler Saina Nehwal and shooter Gagan Narang by their respective state governments. Sports bodies from across the country have expressed their happiness with performances of Indian athletes and the 2012 London Olympics.

He has won a silver Medal and they are celebrating more than Usain Bolt. Even countries like North Korea, Cuba. Ethiopia, Jamaica, Uganda, Turkey, Iran, Tunisia, Latvia and etc are way above india in the medals table.
