Maruti Suzuki – Autocar Young Driver contest winner: Sudeep Ranjan Mishra

The Maruti Suzuki Autocar Young Driver contest 2012 is an event which is organized to test knowledge of participant's related to real life driving skills, traffic rules as also road safety. This competition is attended by individuals from all over the country and the winner is chosen based on the above factors. In order to expand its reach to many the event incorporated two new categories: a female category to encourage participation of the fairer sex and a category that promotes responsible driving.

The contest covered over 65 cities and spanned over three months wherein people from all age groups took part. The core initiative of this program was to inculcate safe and responsible driving in the younger generation. This competition was held as a part of the National Road Safety Mission, which was launched in 2008.

At the finals held at New Delhi, 27 contestants showcased their driving skills on the tracks of the Institute of Driving and Traffic research. Culmination of the finals saw Sudeep Ranjan Mishra emerge as the winner and he was presented with a brand new A-star. In the female category, Srushty Parsana from Mumbai was adjudged as the winner and presented with a Grand trophy and certificate.
