ABT Sportsline has revealed the new high performance variant of Audi A8 luxury car. Called the Audi AS8, ABT has tagged the huge Audi car as the real sports car limo. The production version of Audi's S8 is powered by a 4.0 liter twin turbocharged V8 TFSI generating 520 hp and 650 Nm. ABT has tuned the V8 which now thumps out 620 hp and 780 Nm torque.
Weight of new Audi AS8 is a little less than 2,000 kgs,. The power is transmitted to its four wheels through an 8 speed automatic transmission. This makes acceleration from 0 to 62 mph (0-100 kmph) possible in a matter of 4 seconds, 0-200 kmph in 13 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 180 mph (290 kmph).
Its lightweight aluminum body ensures optimum performance and economy making it the fastest, lightest and an outperformer as compared to any A8 yet. Hans-Jürgen Abt, MD, ABT Sportsline, says, "For us, the new AS8 is the best of both worlds, that is, the best in terms of both comfort and acceleration and agility. After all, the AS8 has to meet our premium customers' standards when it comes to performance and luxuriousness."
